Its really important to me as a new animator to look at different types of animations from commercials to ammeter, this will allow me to see the quality of the overall video. Iv looked at LOADS of videos online and i can say they is a lot of rubbish online, however the videos on this blog are the better ones.
We did hand drawn cell animation in the workshop and i think its very frustrating, i dont think i could do a whole video just drawing thats why iv looked at drawn animations with human interaction.
Stop motion drawn animation
Random, not realistic, seeing what the artist sees. I think thats really important in creating a good animation. The viewers have a vision when hearing a song its all about taking the extra mile the other way to get them out of their box and this does that for me. I wouldn't have thought this when hearing this song. I will keep that in mind when looking deeper into my song/animation.
White board, not PAPER!
This video is drawn to a narrative song, however the drawings dont represent what hes saying but follows the beat. Its another way of interrupting a song, why tell the viewer and show the view the same thing? show them something different to trick their mind. Very clever... My song doesn't have words but if it did i would defiantly do that. Trick the viewers.
Interacting with your drawn animation is really lovely. Both harmonise really well together, creating a balance. I would rather have myself interacting with the drawn animation rather than just drawn because i feel part of my creation and makes it more personal and it will show with the end result. HOWEVER, just drawn is hard enough never mind a human interaction. I think i will need to practice just drawn to start off with then build up. Its all about timing!
Boys turn to men... A really funny drawn animation.
This is a story of a boy that turns into a man, its a very literal story but thats what the animator wants. I think the images have been scanned and processed through adobe after effects to be put together. I think this because of the fading and the flow of the key frames.
HOW on earth can this be done?
I dont know how this has been done so i will defiantly will not be attempting to do this, however i thought it was different and included it in my blog. Thinking about lines, spirals and shapes we've seen them before but as a image and if you stare at it for too long you see the designs move but how? Your mind is playing tricks on you and i think thats what this is but as a animation form. Very interesting.
Seeing your life flash before your eyes, a really good story based animation. Simple but effective.
Iv decided to include this in my animation because the amount of frames! In the short film of his life you saw him grow up, they must have been over 100 frames in just that alone. Another think i liked is the amount of layers within the film. You have your background, buildings, charters then anything else e.g. film projector. Another thing is the end scene a typical circle focusing on the face of the charter, i think its over done, however i understand that the animator wants the viewers to focus on him and his life.
Iv been on youtube and Vimeo to get a variety of drawn animations. These are done in different standards, complication, story and ideas thats why i think its important to look at as many videos as possible to get a better idea on what to do my self. I like all of these drawn videos thats why i have uploaded them. My favourite one is the bottom video, it seems amateur however the idea behind it is great! and who expected that ending? I would like to make my audience shocked or surprised theres no fun if they already know whats going to happen.
